PETALING JAYA: World keirin champion Azizulhasni Awang  delivered the 111th gold medal for Malaysia after winning the men's sprint title at the National Velodrome in Nilai, Negri Sembilan, on Monday.
Azizul, roared on by the full capacity crowd, beat his teammate Muhd Shah Firdaus Sahrom 2-0 for Malaysia to reach the magical target enough for the country to be confirmed as the overall champions of the Kuala Lumpur SEA Games.
Fatehah Mustapa had earlier bagged the 110th gold medal for Malaysia and the third from track cycling for the day after easing past fellow Malaysian Farina Shawati Mohd Adnan in the women's keirin final.
It was the second gold for Fatehah, who combined with Farina to win the team sprint title on Sunday.
Eiman Firdaus Mohd Zamri started the ball rolling for Malaysia by clocking 4:33.863 to beat teammate Muhd Nur Aiman Mohd Zariff, who posted 4:41.222, to win the men's 4km individual pursuit event.
