KUALA LUMPUR: Several roads here will be closed in conjunction with the National Day 2016 parade rehearsal in Dataran Merdeka.
City traffic police deputy chief Supt Mohd Adnan Basri said Jalan Raja would be closed from 8am to 1pm starting today until Friday to make preparations for the grand event.
He said 18 other roads would also be closed from 6am to 1pm from Saturday until Aug 31 to enable participants to stage rehearsals for the actual celebrations.
Supt Mohd Adnan urged motorists to use alternative routes or public transport to travel to the city centre.
He also advised motorists to heed orders from traffic cops on duty and obey traffic rules.
Some 150 traffic cops will be deployed out to ensure the National Day 2016 parade and celebrations proceed smoothly.
