NEW YORK: Samsung has unveiled the much-awaited Galaxy Note 8, which features the largest screen in the Note series at the Park Avenue Armory.
The 6.3-inch Infinity Display gives users more room to watch, read and draw, making it perfect for people who love to multi-task.
“We appreciate the relentless passion of the Note community. They have been a constant inspiration to us and we designed the new Note for them,” said Samsung Electronics mobile communications business president D.J. Koh.

The Galaxy Note 8 has a large 6.3 inch screen but still fits comfortably in one hand.
The Note’s signature feature, the S Pen stylus, now allows users to interact with others via Live Message by sharing animated texts and drawings.
Its improved Translate function allows users to use the S Pen to translate text quickly – not just individual words, but entire sentences – in up to 71 languages and also convert foreign currencies.
The Note 8 will be the first Samsung smartphone to feature twin cameras. Both the 12-megapixel cameras – one with wide-angle lens and another with telephoto lens – feature Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS).
The Dual Capture mode allows users to take two photos simultaneously – one close-up shot from the telephoto lens and one wide-angle shot that shows more of the background.
The company said the smartphone battery has undergone an 8-Point Battery Safety Check, which it claims is the most rigorous in the industry.
The Note 8 will be available starting mid-September in four colours – Midnight Black, Orchid Grey, Maple Gold and Deepsea Blue.
