KUALA LUMPUR: Kamarulzaman Khamis, brother-in-law of Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, died yesterday at the Tuanku Mizan Military Hospital in Wangsa Maju.
Kamarulzaman, who was 59, died at 10.59 am due to heart complications, according to Datuk Mohd Lokman Hamidi, 54, a younger brother of Ahmad Zahid.
Kamarulzaman, the third younger sibling of Ahmad Zahid's wife Datin Seri Hamidah Khamis, was admitted to the Terendak Camp Hospital in Melaka at 3 am yesterday, and was transferred to the Tuanku Mizan Military Hospital later.

Mohd Lokman, when contacted by Bernama, said Kamarulzaman's body was taken to the Tuanku Mizan Military Hospital surau for funeral prayers and then taken to Masjid Tanah in Melaka for burial.
Kamarulzaman will be buried at the Durian Daun Muslim cemetery after the Zuhur prayers (today), he said.
Kamarulzaman leaves a wife and two children, a son and a daughter.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Zahid posted on his official Facebook page: "It is with sadness that I wish to inform that my brother-in-law, Kamarulzaman Khamis, died at 10.59 am at the Tuanku Mizan Military Hospital.
"Al-Fatihah ... may his soul be placed among the righteous."
