Former aide to minister pleads not guilty to corruption
SHAH ALAM: A former special officer to a Cabinet minister has been charged in a Sessions Court here with corruption involving RM80,000.
Zailan Jauhari, 47, pleaded not guilty before Sessions Court judge Asmadi Hussin here on Thursday.
He is accused of accepting a bribe from one Siti Rahmah Sabli as a “fee” for helping Syarikat KCM Maju Resources and Syarikat Sri Kajang Jaya gain a tender for cleaning services at schools in Zone 2 and Zone 4 in Kuala Selangor.
Zailan allegedly accepted RM20,000 in cash and RM60,000 in a cheque dated Jan 10, 2014, from Siti Rahmah at a restaurant, Mak Engku Steamboat & Grill in Taman Bendahara, Kuala Selangor between 7.30pm and 8pm on Jan 8, 2014.
He was special officer to Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein when he was Acting Transport Minister in 2014.
