Former Rural and Regional Development Ministry secretary-general Datuk Mohd Arif Ab Rahman has been charged in the Sessions Court



Former ministry sec-gen, son charged with bribery

KUALA LUMPUR: Former Rural and Regional Development Ministry secretary-general Datuk Mohd Arif Ab Rahman has been charged in the Sessions Court here with abetting his eldest son in accepting a S$200,000 (RM550,000) bribe.

His son Ahmad Zukhairi was charged with accepting the money over an electricity supply project in Sandakan.
Mohd Arif and his son arrived at the court at 9.30am on Tuesday accompanied by family members and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers.
Both accused claimed trial before judge Azura Alwi.
Judge Azura fixed bail at RM200,000 bail with one surety each pending mention on March 20.
