MALACCA: After vicious monkey and wild boar attacks, it’s now the turn of a ferocious cat.

A 49-year-old woman from Batu Berendam here received stitches after being mauled by a domesticated animal.

Jamilah Md Jan sustained injuries on her right leg following the attack from a domestic cat at her Flat house.

“The cat was behaving like a tiger, it really scared the daylights out of me,” she told The Star online on Wednesday.



Jamilah saw the neighbour’s feline inside her home at 7am on Tuesday and tried to chase it away.

The cat went into a rage and sprang at her.

“I was horrified with the ferocious attack that left me bleeding,” she said.

Jamilah said she then sought treatment at the Malacca Hospital where she received stitches on her right leg.

“I also lodged a police report on the same day as really terrified by the whole episode,” she said.

Despite the shocking attack, Jamilah, a canteen operator at a school says she remains a cat lover.

Hang Tuah Jaya Municipal Council (MPHTJ) council president Mansor Sudin said he will dispatch his officer to flats to interview the residents on the alleged attacks.

“We don’t have specific by-law to act on feline attacks but we could if the situation warrants with number of complaints, we have the clout to execute action.

“Anyway, we will send a team to the area to check on this,” he said.

Earlier this month, a troop of monkeys overpowered a 33-year-old postman who was on his routine rounds at the garrison camp and grabbed the letters from him.

On July 31, nine-year-old Muhammad Sufian Anas was mauled and dragged 20m by a wild boar in suburban Semabok here. .

He was found unconscious by neighbours who rushed him to the hospital.
