PETALING JAYA: A 19-year-old was killed after being assaulted by a group of men at the roundabout near the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport last night.

R. Devrar, from Kampung Lindungan, was with his friends on their motorcycles at 3am when the incident occurred.

As the group approached the roundabout, a car suddenly came up behind them and rammed into their bikes.

One of the men in the car then alighted from the vehicle and proceeded to beat up Devrar.

Fearing for their lives, Devrar's friends ran away.

Petaling Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zani Che Din said Devrar was taken to a hospital in Subang Jaya. However, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

"The victim's brother, who was also at the scene during the incident, lodged a police report today. We have recorded his statement and that of his friends," he said.

Mohd Zani said that following the report, police launch an operation to track down the suspects.

"Two men aged between 18 and 27 were nabbed in Petaling Jaya and Sungai Buloh between 3pm and 6pm today.

"We are still hunting for seven or eight men believed to be involved in the case," he said.

The case has been classified as murder.
