Perak police release rock-themed Raya video
THE STAR

PETALING JAYA: Social media is abuzz with a video produced by the Perak police force for Hari Raya, filled with a dose of rock music without the loud fashion sense and bling.
The five-minute video clip starts with a police officer preparing to head home on the eve of Raya, before being informed that he needs to stay for a roll call at midnight.
He then receives a call from his child who reminds him to be home in time for Raya celebrations.
Despite the light-hearted approach, the lyrics to the songs offer a touching rendition of how the men in blue have to sacrifice family time in the line of duty.
"Go home to celebrate, we will watch over. We will stay here and work,"
"We will eat the kuih raya in the patrol car and just drink water. God willing, we will meet mom and dad another year," they sing.
It is then followed with visuals of the officers on patrolling duties around malls and catching thieves.
The video, which was posted by PolisPerak on their Facebook page on Tuesday, has since garnered almost 4,000 views and 112 shares.
While the video conveys the message that the police are responsible for public safety and crime prevention, residents are advised to always be vigilant of their surroundings and safeguard their homes.
Those who will be away for a long time were advised to fill up the 'borang balik kampung' and submit it to the nearest police station.
