BALIK PULAU: Four in a family, including a two-year-old boy, were gunned down while they were sleeping in their container home in a chicken processing factory in Batu Maung near here.
Police said a 32-year-old man, believed to be on drugs, had rushed into the container home where the four were sleeping and shot them at about 2.55am.
The dead were the man’s 55-year-old mother, his younger brother in his 20s, and two-year-old nephew.
Also killed was 50-year-old partner/operator of the factory.
Penang CID chief Datuk Razaruddin Husain said initial investigation showed that the man could have gone into a rage after he could not get money to buy drugs.
The suspect fled the scene in a Toyota Hilux owned by the operator.
