Zlatan Ibrahimovic hasn’t even been officially unveiled as a Manchester United player yet and already he is winding up arch rivals City.
A huge banner has been unveiled in the Arndale shopping centre announcing the mercurial Swede’s arrival in the Premier League, and it directly overlooks City’s official club shop.
The billboard is a homage to the famous ‘Welcome to Manchester’ sign that City erected when Carlos Tevez opted to cross the Manchester divide, leaving the Red Devils for Roberto Mancini’s emerging City side. But in trademark Ibrahimovic fashion, the 34-year-old has flipped the slogan so it reads ‘Welcome to Zlatan’.
The striker is expected to take the Premier League by storm under Jose Mourinho, having enjoyed his most prolific season to date last term, and is reportedly in Manchester right now to undergo a medical before signing his contract.
It is not yet known who carried out the stunt, whether it be one of Ibrahimovic’s sponsors, the club, a fan or even the great man himself. But one thing is for sure: City fan aren’t happy!
Meanwhile:
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is undergoing a medical ahead of his move to Manchester United, according to Sky sources.
