KUALA LUMPUR: Scores of family members and friends of Datin Renyce Wong Siew Ling gathered at the Nirvana Memorial Centre in Sungai Besi here to pay their last respects to the slain real estate agent.
It was an especially heartbreaking goodbye for Wong's husband, three sons, daughter and maid, who stayed close to her hearse during the funeral procession at about 10.20am Sunday.
Wong's eight-year-old daughter is still in hospital after undergoing surgery in the aftermath of the shooting in Taman Oug on Wednesday.
Her husband, who did not want to be identified, was wearing sunglasses and a surgical mask. Despite this, Wong's husband was visibly devastated during the procession.
Family members held on to each other as they walked behind Wong's hearse bound for the Fullbow Memorial Park in Karak, Pahang, where she will be laid to rest.
The funeral march was led by a band playing a sombre rendition of Teresa Teng'sThe Moon Represents My Heart.
Wong, 32, was gunned down by two assailants on a motorcycle while driving her five children and maid to lunch at about 2.30pm on the first day of Hari Raya.
Her daughter, who was in the front passenger seat, was also shot when the gunmen fired five bullets at the Toyota Vellfire, piercing her intestines in nine places.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Amar Singh said police were still probing the case from all angles and would issue a statement later.
