Car plunges into ravine on NSE, driver killed

IPOH: A four-wheel drive vehicle crashed into a road divider and plunged into a ravine at KM260 of the North-South Expressway (Northbound) here on Wednesday.
According to Deputy Perak police traffic chief DSP Mohd Mahiri Hussin, the driver of the Mitsubishi Triton died in the crash.
A passenger in the vehicle was seriously injured and taken to Hospital Kuala Kangsar.
The driver is believed to have lost control of his vehicle due to slippery roads following a downpour along the highway, said DSP Mohd Mahiri.
The body of the deceased was brought to the hospital for a post-mortem.
DSP Mohd Mahiri said the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
The incident occurred four days after a bus rammed into 10 vehicles on the highway, along a hilly stretch of road before and after the Menora Tunnel.
