FORTY-SIX Malaysian Islamic State (IS) militants are waiting in line to become suicide bombers, reported Mingguan Malaysia.
The newspaper quoted Bukit Aman Special Branch Counter Terrorism Division head Senior Asst Comm Datuk Ayob Khan as saying the Malaysians were currently in Syria.
Another 18 Malaysian IS militants in the war-torn country have been killed, including seven who were suicide bombers.
“Malaysians who join in the fight in Syria want to die as martyrs... but the possibility that they will only be wounded in battle is something that has strengthened their resolve to offer themselves to be in the frontline,” he said.
He added that Malaysians who wanted to become IS suicide bombers had to wait their turn as there was a waiting list.
