Wife Goes Past Accident But Does Not Realise Its Her Singaporean Husband

Singaporean man killed in Johor car crash

JOHOR BARU: A Singaporean man was killed in a car crash while driving to meet friends for supper in Johor Baru in the early hours of New Year's Day.
Mr Lim Yew Beng, 49, who lived in the city and worked as a contractor, crashed his Mercedes Benz at Jalan Kuning near the KSL City Mall at around 1am.
His wife, 43-year-old Linda Teh, told Chinese evening paper Shin Min Daily News that her husband would often meet his friends for supper after work but the couple would keep in touch on the phone.
When she did not hear from him for hours, she went to look for him with their children aged 10 and four to the restaurant he frequented.
She saw a traffic accident on the way but did not realise it involved her husband. When she reached the restaurant, it was closed.
Madam Teh added that she went home again, but still did not hear from him.
She then decided to go to the scene of the traffic accident, and gave her husband's particulars to the officers who confirmed that he was involved in the crash.
Mr Lim died from his injuries on the way to the hospital. His body has been repatriated to Singapore.
Shin Min Daily News reported that his employees and colleagues went to the mortuary in Johor after hearing of his death. They said that he was a caring man, and had a good rapport with his colleagues.  – The Singapore Straits Times/Asia News Network
