    KLANG: The girl, who feigned a call about her abduction that went viral, has pleaded guilty in a juvenile court here to providing false information to police.
    The 15-year-old, who could not be named, was brought before the court with two other teenagers.
    Turning up in court in a green hospital robe, the girl nodded when the charge was read to her yesterday. Her mother was present.
    She was accused under Section 196 of the Penal Code of providing false information that she was abducted at 9.12am on Dec 29, 2015, in Bandar Sultan Suleiman, Port Klang.
    In the same court, her friend, a 16-year-old boy, was charged under Section 376(1) of the Penal Code with raping her in Bandar Sultan Suleiman here at noon in December 2014.
    However, no plea was recorded as neither his parents nor guardians were present.

    Gan Chin Teck, 19, believed to be the girl’s boyfriend, pleaded not guilty to abducting a minor and taking her away without permission from her parents or guardians under Section 363 of the Penal Code.
    Gan, who works as an ironsmith, is said to have committed the offence at 2pm on Dec 27, 2015, in front of a school in Bandar Sultan Suleiman, Port Klang.
    Magistrate Nor Asma Ahmad set bail at RM1,500 with two sureties for the girl, RM2,000 with two sureties for the boy and RM5,000 with one surety for Gan.
    She also fixed Jan 14 for mention in the girl’s case pending a Welfare Department report and Feb 25 for Gan.
    The girl was also ordered to report to the nearest police station every fortnight.
    Earlier, the magistrate had asked the boy if his parents were aware that he was being brought to court yesterday.
    He said although his parents knew that he had been arrested, they did not know that he would be in court.
    She then fixed mention for today and told him to have his parents present.
    DPP Syed Farid Syed Ali prosecuted the cases while Nur Aida Md Zainuddin acted as defence counsel for the girl.
