ALOR GAJAH: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi joined 300 others in prayers for the late Kapt Hasman Hussin at the Sekolah Agama Imtiaz Ulul Albab surau in Masjid Tanah here.
The prayer was headed by Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) Religious Officer Mejar Wan Efendi Wan Mamat and was joined by Malacca Yang DiPertua Negri Tun Mohd Khalil Yaakob and former Malacca chief minister Tan Sri Mohd Ali Rustam.
The remains of Kapt Hasman (pic), which arrived at thesurau at 5.30pm, was buried at the Kampung Solok Air Batu Cemetery, 150m from the surau.
Earlier, the remains arrived at the As-Syuhada Mosque in Terendak Camp here at about 4.30pm in a hearse from the KL International Airport and was received by Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein and Malacca Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron.
The coffin, which was draped with a Malaysian flag, was received by more than 1,500 ATM officers and personnel.
Kapt Hasman, 33, died on Dec 27 after the vehicle he was in was swept away by strong currents during floods in Missouri, United States. – Bernama
