Police have smashed a robbery syndicate believed to have been responsible for 60 cases since 2014 with the arrest of four Indonesian nationals and a Malaysian.

SHAH ALAM, Jan 19 — Police have smashed a robbery syndicate believed to have been responsible for 60 cases since 2014 with the arrest of four Indonesian nationals and a Malaysian.
They also recovered 74 luxury watches and RM80,000 worth of gold jewellery.
Selangor Criminal Investigations Depart-ment chief Datuk Mohd Adnan Abdullah said police believed the group had been active since 2009.
He said police tracked them down after their latest robbery at Country Heights in Kajang last Tuesday.
“Police received information on a robbery which happened at 4.30am on January 12, and acting on that report, they apprehended three men aged between 32 and 45 at an apartment unit in Desa Serdang, Serdang Lama, at 7.30pm,” Mohd Adnan said.
The other two men were picked up in separate raids in Kuala Lumpur and Johor on Thursday.
“We arrested a 44-year-old Malaysian contractor from a parking lot in Tasik Heights at 10am, and arrested another Indonesian national from Stulang Laut jetty in Johor Baru at 2.30pm," he said.
Mohd Adnan said the Indonesian man was picked up as he was attempting to flee to Batam.
He said initial investigations revealed the Malaysian had five records of robbery.
Police are scrutinising the travel documents of the Indonesian nationals.
“With the arrest of these five syndicate members, we believe we have solved over 50 cases in the Klang Valley, Selangor as well as Negri Sembilan,” he said.
Police are urging victims to come forward to identify any of their missing belongings. They may call DSP Zulkifli Abu Bakar at 019-2413978.
