Bystanders Catch Pickpocket At 1-Utama While Security Guards Pretend Not To Notice

Recently a video showing two men trying to arrest a pickpocket in a local mall went viral in social media as viewers condemned the security guards seen in the video standing nearby but ignoring the good samaritans struggling with the thief.
The incident which allegedly took place at 1-Utama shopping mall had grabbed netizens’ attention as members of the public had to literally force the security guards to help them arrest the pickpocket, local online news portal thecoverage.my reports.

In the 24-second video, the security guards can be seen ignoring the commotion and acting as if nothing out of the ordinary had occurred when the shoppers called for help.

Many people shared their point of view after watching the video, questioning the mall’s management for hiring unfit security guards.

Although the guards did eventually come to the aid of the shoppers, many viewers commented that the mall management should ensure that the security guards hired are trained to maintain the safety of the public, such as breaking up fights, being on the lookout for robbery and kidnapping attempts and generally looking after the well-being of shoppers in the mall.
