PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor (pic) has warned Umno deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin that the party will not hesitate to take disciplinary action against him if he “crosses the line”.
The Umno secretary-general was quoted in a report on the Barisan Nasional Backbenches Club (BNBBC) website as saying that it was up to Muhyiddin whether to give his speech outside of the upcoming general assembly.
“Cuma (Just) don’t cross the line, you cross the line, we will take action,” warned Tengku Adnan during a Back to School event at Putrajaya on Monday.
Muhyiddin will be speaking at a public rally on Monday night.
The rally will be held at the Kelab Sultan Sulaiman and will also be attended by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Umno vice president Datuk Shafie Apdal.
It was decided earlier that Muhyiddin would not be allowed to address the Umno general assembly which starts on Thursday despite his party position.
It is customary for the deputy president to give the policy speech at the joint-opening of three Umno wings and also deliver a winding-up speech at the end of the assembly.
