PETALING JAYA: Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund conveyed their condolences to the Johor royal family over the passing of Tunku Laksamana Johor Tunku Abdul Jalil Sultan Ibrahim.
“Borussia Dortmund would like to send their deepest sympathies to His Royal Highness (Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim) on the demise of his beloved brother and to all our friends in Malaysia,” they posted on their official Facebook page on Sunday.
The state football team Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) and Borussia Dortmund are partners - the German club lend their expertise to JDT in youth development.
Tunku Abdul Jalil, 25, the fourth child of Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, passed away at 7.11pm Saturday at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital, Johor Baru, of cancer.
His remains were buried at the Mahmoodiah Royal Mausoleum at 3.20pm Sunday.
