Its president, Jalaluddin Yusof, said the group would conduct an internal investigation if there were complaints that members had taken part in the incident.
This comes after news reports stated that some of the 200 men gathered outside the popular shopping complex yesterday were believed to be part from the movement.
"If there are complaints that members are involved, we will investigate. If they were part of provocative elements, we will take action. And, if they were merely defending themselves, we will scrutinise the matter."
Jalaluddin said Pekida, despite being a Muslim charitable body, has always been made the scapegoat whenever incidents like the Low Yat Plaza brawl took place.
"Pekida do not like to fight, we prefer that peace be maintained. It would appear that once again, Pekida has been made the scapegoat.”
Jalaluddin said following the incident, Pekida was willing to cooperate with the police to ensure that things remain under control.
"We will refer with the authorities, because we don't want our economy to be affected by all this," he said.
When asked whether there was a possibility that Pekida members could have taken part in the gathering which turned into a fight, Jalaluddin said he could not dismiss the possibility.
"Out of so many people, there is a possibility that some members may be there but officially, Pekida is not involved," he said.
Last night, five people were injured when a group of 50 men barged into a restaurant near Low Yat and started attacking patrons.
Among the injured were journalists.
