No undesirable people will be allowed into the country and that includes Hong Kong student activist Joshua Wong

People like Wong barred from entering Malaysia, says IGP

PETALING JAYA: No undesirable people will be allowed into the country and that includes Hong Kong student activist Joshua Wong, says Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.
“We know that he has organised illegal demonstrations in Hong Kong, and we also know that he is active in giving speeches against China. We don’t want people like him to come into our country and disturb the peace.

“Those from outside Malaysia should not come here to incite or provoke our people to demonstrate,” Khalid told reporters at the University Malaya Medical Centre yesterday.
He was responding to reports on Wong, who was expelled an hour after touching down in Penang at 11.55am on Tuesday.
Wong, 18, was sent back to Hong Kong on the same plane he arrived in. He was to speak at a forum on the “Tiananmen Square Massacre”.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong said the deportation was allowed by law. “For example, if you visit Britain or Australia, their immigration officers have the right to stop you from crossing into their territories.
“If a country is against a certain issue, especially if we have diplomatic relations with, we will usually not do something to cause them discomfort,” Dr Wee said during a function here.
In Beijing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hua Chunying welcomed Malaysia’s decision.
“I’m not aware of the details. However,Malaysia has the right to enforce its immigration laws,” she said.
