Johor records RM27.4 billion in investments in first quarter of 2025

JOHOR BAHRU: Johor has recorded investments totaling RM27.4 billion for the first quarter of 2025, driven mainly by the implementation of the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) as well as various other initiatives in attracting investments to the state.
The Acting Sultan of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, through a post on Facebook, said that the achievement proves the determination of all parties in making Johor a major investment destination in the region.
His Majesty also stressed his commitment to ensuring that the level of education in the state of Johor continues to be improved in line with the aspirations of the people and the state for comprehensive progress.
"I have stressed since being appointed as the Regent Sultan of Johor that education is a priority.
"The State Government has allocated RM55 million to improve the education system in Johor," said His Majesty.
In terms of disaster management, His Majesty also emphasized the need to accelerate the implementation of flood mitigation projects which were originally scheduled to be completed in 2029.
"I have ordered that this project be accelerated and completed no later than 2027," his Majesty said.
Tunku Mahkota Ismail said that the state's infrastructure is always a priority, in addition to efforts to improve the education, economy and quality of life of the people of Johor to ensure that the state continues to progress and be competitive.
His Majesty also expressed his appreciation to all parties involved in the state's development.
"I would like to congratulate the Menteri Besar of Johor, Dato' Onn Hafiz Ghazi, the Johor State Government, the private sector and all those involved for their positive efforts and implementation of initiatives that are in line with efforts to further elevate the State of Johor in various aspects," said his Majesty.
