SEMENYIH, April 5, 2015:
Families of Captain Clifford William Fournier and operations assistant Aidana Baizieva, who were among the six who died in the Semenyih helicopter crash yesterday, have been notified to identify the bodies.
In concluding Day 2 of search operations at the crash site, Selangor police chief Datuk Abdul Samah Mat said four of the deceased had been identified with their funeral rites having been concluded today.
“Tomorrow, the families of the remaining two will be identifying the bodies,” he told reporters here today.
It is believed the remains are at Hospital Kuala Lumpur after undergoing a post-mortem.
The privately-owned helicopter was ferrying Rompin Member of Parliament Tan Sri Jamaluddin Jarjis, Prime Minister’s senior private secretary Datuk Azlin Alias, Jamaluddin’s bodyguard Razakan Seran and SP Baiduri Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Tan Huat Seang when it crashed at 4.55pm yesterday.
Jamaluddin was laid to rest at the Warrior’s Mausoleum in Masjid Negara today while Azlin was buried at the Batu 13, Saujana Impian Muslim cemetery.
Razkan’s body was flown to Sabah where he will be laid to rest in his hometown of Tuaran.
The remains of Tan were claimed by his family members at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) today and would be brought to Kedah.
Fournier’s remains will be claimed by his parents when they arrive from the United States tomorrow.
None have yet to come forward to claim the body of Aidana, who was identified in the manifest released by the Transport Ministry last night as the operations assistant.
A spokesperson from HKL had earlier today said that this last remaining victim from the crash had yet to be claimed by relatives as her identity had yet to be ascertained.
The media yesterday had mistakenly identified a woman in a photo with Fournier as Aidana. However, the woman has since come forward to deny this.
