Woman sets tongues wagging after she was invited by captain to sit in cockpit because flight was full
An attractive woman has set tongues wagging after she was allowed to sit in the cockpit during her Cathay Pacific flight home to Hong Kong from Taipei.
According to Shanghaiist, she said the captain allowed her to sit in the cockpit because the flight was full.
The 28-year-old woman, Ada Ng, took photos of herself in the cockpit and a video of the flight landing at the airport.
She then posted these images on her Weibo page and remarked at how cool it was to experience takeoff and landing inside a cockpit.
Her photos and video quickly became viral online and were features on various news sites.
It also sparked a discussion online about airline security as most airlines have made it virtually impossible for passengers to access the cockpit post-9/11, states the report.
It is unclear if Ng was part of the cabin crew or a family member of crew as a photo posted by her shows an air ticket that indicated she had a jump seat in business class.
Jump seats are used by cabin crew during takeoff and landing and sometimes used by trainee pilots, off-duty crew members commuting between airports. They can also be offered to family members of crew members.
