JOHOR BHARU, March 10 (Bernama) -- A total of 1,191 eateries nationwide offering Menu Rahmah have registered with the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living
Ministry (KPDN) via https://menurahmah.kpdn.gov.my as of Wednesday.
Deputy KPDN Minister Fuziah Salleh said the good response from traders to the Menu Rahmah initiative is also expected to increase with the introduction of Menu
Rahmah at Ramadan bazaars.
“So, the list will constantly show an increase as traders continue to register on our website at the KPDN. And this does not include the 215 Rest and Recreation (R&R)
stops.
“There are also traders who are not registered with us, and if they (traders) want to use the logo, we would like to suggest that they register with us so that we can
assist them in terms of publicity.
“We have not set any targets (of registered premises) because it is a privately driven initiative and they are doing it without any incentives or subsidies...it is voluntary.
They only wish to share sustenance with the consumers,” she said.
She told reporters after launching the Fiesta Food Truck Rahmah Kasih Sayang at Plaza Angsana here today.
The fiesta, which began today will end on Sunday. Some 50 food truck traders are offering Menu Rahmah priced at RM5.00 and below.
Fuziah also said in conjunction with the Rahmah sales, the ministry has provided RM11,500 in e-wallets to the Food Truck traders and visitors.
She said the Retail Sector Digitalisation Initiative (ReDI) was aimed at encouraging traders and visitors to participate in a cashless payment transactions.
“RM30 is offered to traders while a sum of RM20 to consumers on a cashless basis (e-wallet) and this is the Retail Sector Digitalisation Initiative (ReDI), an initiative
where we want to encourage retailers as well as consumers to carry out cashless sales transactions.
“This is an initiative which we consider an improvement on what we have already done,” she added.
