GE15: 'Not a raid but a normal investigation at Rafizi's office' - MACC
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) confirmed that it had attended and taken some documents at the office of Invoke Solutions Sdn Bhd, owned by PKR Deputy President Rafizi Ramli, on Tuesday.
According to MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki, the presence of the MACC officers is a normal investigation procedure into the alleged ownership of assets announced by Rafizi, last week.
"There was no raid but a normal investigation, only four MACC officers were present to interview staff and take documents related to finances only.
"No personnel were detained in the investigation and they were all seen to be unstressed and provided good cooperation throughout the presence of MACC officers in the office," he told Astro AWANI here today.
Speaking at the Ceramah Mega Ayuh Malaysia, Kita Boleh di Wangsa Maju last night, Rafizi revealed that his company, Invoke Solutions Sdn Bhd, was raided by MACC and also claimed that the staff were detained for seven hours.
The MACC previously announced the opening of investigation papers regarding the property declaration made by the Pandan parliamentary candidate after a report was made by a non-governmental organization (NGO) regarding Rafizi's declaration.
Last November 2, Rafizi came forward to declare his wealth with a net asset value of RM18.85 million and claimed that he did not need public funds to make himself rich.
He said the property declaration was made in accordance with the Statutory Declaration Act 1960 following PKR's requirement that candidates contesting in the 15th General Election (GE15) do so.
