Country's wealth must be fairly distributed among all Malaysians

PUTRAJAYA: The country's wealth needs to be fairly distributed so that all Malaysians can enjoy the fruits of her development, says Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
The Prime Minister said poverty issues must be addressed, taking into consideration the needs and welfare of all races.
"We must, to the best of our ability, ensure fairness and help all Malaysians.
"We must be responsible and to ensure equal distribution of wealth, or at least to a level acceptable to all, " he said to staff of the Prime Minister's Department on Monday (Jan 14).
In his fist address to them for 2019, the Prime Minister said that the people should be thankful that the country achieved its independence peacefully with having to go war or riots.
He added that our forefathers' decision to share power after gaining independence had allowed the country to grow and progress.
This, he said, is what separated Malaysia from other countries which attained independence at around the same time.
