MELAKA: PKR's Central Election Committee (JPP) has given Melaka until Sunday (Oct 21) midnight to resolve technical glitches surrounding the state party polls.

JPP's National chairman Datuk Rashid Din said the Melaka polling technical team has until 12am to find a solution to the glitches on the poll results and protests by the voters.

"If the dispute still continues, we would refer to party's political bureau to make a decision on Melaka's party election process," he said in a statement on Sunday.

It's not immediately known whether the bureau would summon a fresh balloting process after the Saturday's poll was maligned by alterations and disputes over the vote count.

The missing votes account for 60% of the total ballots cast on Saturday (Oct 20).

Shamsul Iskandar said all the missing digital ballot papers were from all six divisions in the state.

Shouting matches also erupted at Tangga Batu where supporters of opposing camps were unhappy with the counting process.

The heated argument almost descended into violence but the party's election workers managed to calm the situation.
