Senior cop arrested for allegedly receiving over RM100,000 in bribes

PUTRAJAYA: A senior police officer has been arrested for alleged bribery amounting to more than RM100,000.

The senior officer, who is a "Datuk" was detained at about 7.10pm on Thursday (Oct 25).


The 56-year-old was arrested while he was giving statement to Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission investigators, sources said


He is said to have asked for inducement in order not to take action against a corporal, who is believed to be in the "business" of helping motorists reduce their traffic summonses.
