Irwan Siregar Has Arrived At MACC HQ in a MYVI at 3.25pm and is expected to be charged Tomorrow

PUTRAJAYA: Former treasury secretary-general Tan Sri Dr Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah has arrived at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters after being summoned by the graft busters.

He arrived at 3.25pm Wednesday (Oct 24) in a black Perodua Myvi.


The 61-year-old former senior civil servant was called for his statements to be recorded and is expected to be charged on Thursday (Oct 25) in connection with the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal.

It is learnt that he is to answer charges over 1MDB's dealings with the International Petroleum Investment Co (IPIC).


The last session he had with investigators was on Aug 10.

His former boss Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is also expected to be charged in connection with the same case.

Najib arrived at MACC at 1.55pm on Wednesday.

Like Najib, Dr Mohd Irwan is also likely to spend the night in MACC lock up and will be brought to court on Thursday.

Najib is already facing 32 charges of criminal breach of trust, corruption and money laundering.
