KUALA LUMPUR: An aide to former prime minister Najib Razak lodged a police report tonight, seeking the reopening of investigations into several high-profile murder cases.

The report was lodged at a police station in Sri Hartamas at 8.16pm.

The police report cited a news report quoting DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang who wanted investigations to be carried out again in the deaths of Altantuya Shaariibuu, Kevin Morais, Hussain Najadi, Teoh Beng Hock and Ahmad Sarbani Mohamed which were previously linked by Pakatan Harapan (PH) leaders to Najib.A copy of the police report lodged by an aide to former prime minister Najib Razak.

“Since the cases were previously probed very thoroughly and had already gone to the courts, I urge the police to call Lim to give information and additional statements on those cases.

“If Lim is truly honest and holds firm to the rule of law, and has additional information as he has hinted, which will aid the course of justice, Lim should be courageous enough to include his claims and all other information in a statutory declaration which can then be accepted by the police.

“Based on the information given, I would like to ask the police to reopen investigations into these cases,” the aide stated in his police report.

The aide said Najib’s name should be cleared if the investigations showed that he was not involved in the deaths.

“But if Lim’s claims are baseless and a political lie, I also urge police to take legal action against Lim over his irresponsible remarks,” he said.

Najib had said yesterday that he would get his aide to lodge a police report against him so that police could reinvestigate if he was really involved in the murders.

Najib and Lim had been engaged in a public spat over the issue.
