Angry boss who screamed at pregnant employee suspended by telco
KUALA LUMPUR: A video showing a woman shouting at two individuals including a pregnant woman has gone viral on social media.
It is believed that the woman, who was seen shouting at the other two, holds a managerial position in telecommunications company, Maxis.
In the one-minute and 37-second duration video, the woman was angry as the two individuals, believed to be her staff, failed to perform the tasks given to them.
“You sit down here and send SMS now. Look at me. Do you want to get fired? Why can’t you do when I ask you to do?” she shouted.
She then looked at the pregnant woman and shouted, “You! Look at me! What are you good at?"
A Twitter user by the name of Haniff Husein, said: “Sack her or we as Maxis customer will port out to another service provider!"
Another Twitter user, Hirolee, posted: “No action against this trash manager?? It’s time to leave Maxis, then..."
Meanwhile, Maxis posted a statement regarding the video via its official Twitter account.
“Recently, a video was brought to our attention pertaining to a workplace incident. We regret this incident which is currently under investigation. Meanwhile the employee in question has been suspended indefinitely.
“This incident is not reflective of the values that we uphold, which is creating a passionate, positive and collaborative workspace for all our employees. We have reached out to the affected employees and expressed our regret over the incident,” the company said. © New Straits Times Press
