PETALING JAYA: Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor has urged her supporters not to shed tears over Datuk Seri Najib Razak's ongoing corruption trial.

"Don't ever cry. I don't want anybody to cry," she said in a video posted by Channel News Asia.

Rosmah was addressing her supporters who gathered outside the Kuala Lumpur High Court on Wednesday (July 4), who turned up to support to the former prime minister.

Among those spotted in the video was former deputy works minister Datuk Rosnah Shirlin.

She was seen briefly in the afternoon, several hours after court proceedings had begun.

On Wednesday (July 4), 64-year-old Najib was charged with misusing his position as a government official to receive an RM42mil bribe as inducement to provide a sovereign guarantee on behalf of the Malaysian Government for a loan of RM4bil from a government pension fund to SRC International Sdn Bhd.

He was also charged with three counts of criminal breach of trust (CBT) in his former capacity as prime minister, finance minister and advisor emeritus of SRC International, in which he was entrusted with the RM4bil.

Najib pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

The trial will take place from Feb 18 to 28 next year
