GEORGE TOWN: The remains of assault victim T. Nhaveen were cremated at the Batu Gantung crematorium here on Friday.
More than 1,000 people gathered at the funeral parlour and followed the hearse which reached the crematorium at 4pm.
The coffin bearing Nhaveen's remains was carried from the funeral parlour by his friends.
His remains were cremated after the final rites at 4.32pm.
Nhaveen was set upon by five boys who allegedly beat him up with helmets and sodomised him during a scuffle in Glugor on June 10.
He died on Thursday evening after being in coma at the Penang Hospital
