SHAH ALAM: Road Transport Department (RTD) director-general Datuk Seri Nadzri Siron has confirmed he was summoned by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to record a statement over a corruption allegation.

Saying it was all part of an enforcement officer's life to face such complaint, Nadzri said he was prepared to cooperate fully with investigators on the case.

"I was informed to give my statement and explanation to MACC over a complaint lodged against me.

"I am ready to cooperate, RTD always cooperate in any form of investigation.

"This is among the 'dugaan' (challenges) that we have to face working in a law enforcement agency," Nadzri said when met outside the Selangor MACC office, here yesterday.

He was commenting on a case where he was alleged to have accepted a gift in the form of a golf set worth RM45,000.

Nadzri said he went to the MACC office at 3pm.

It was reported yesterday that a director-general of a law enforcement agency was called up by MACC to facilitate an investigation.

MACC deputy chief commissioner Datuk Azam Baki when contacted yesterday confirmed the case.

He said the senior civil servant was called in as a part of a probe to find out if there was any truth to the allegation made against him. No arrest has been made so far on the matter.
