Our Search for the best Berbuka Puasa fare in Kuala Lumpur brought us to the Seri Pacific Hotel Kuala Lumpur to try out their Buka Puasa Buffet offering themed Halaman Haji Saad . Four menu's are rotated on a daily basis.
In previous year's, Seri Pacific has won our best buffet title for the below RM150 category as they have always priced their fare at a very affordable price while giving all the favourite dishes that guest may want.They are famous for providing some very tasty kampung fare;
At the Seri Pacific it's about having your favourites and being contented, It not about having the biggest buffet but its about quality, very similiar to Concorde Hotel KL
Priced At RM138 for the fare at Zende and RM98.00 for the fare at the ballroom,I am told that you will have more choices at Zende and enjoy your dinner in the comfort of the air condition. The Ballroom should be a favourite for smokers..
As you walk into Zende your eyes will surely move to the majestic whole Lamb that greets you, The lamb and briyani rice was awesome with the special sauce. Whether you choose the crispy well done part of the medium well side you will have one of the most tastiest lamb in the city.
We then tasted another must have in the Ramadan Buffet the humble Bubur Lambuk, it was very tasty.
One of the judges decided to take up the challenge to have the Sup Gear Box and she deboned it like an expert, We tasted it and as usual it ranks as one of the best in town.
We then tasted the Briyani with all the dishes from Nasi Kandar Corner and we were treated with a variety of lovely flavors. From the Ayam Goreng Berempah, Daging Masak Palembang, Ikan Goreng, Kobis Goreng Kunyit Telur Masin, to the The Kari Kepala Ikan, Daging Masak Hitam and Vegetable dhalca every single item was delicious. For those who are a fan of Ikan Patin Tempoyak you will get to taste on of the best here. They also had a Mussels in Belacan , Mixed Vegetables, Sayur Goreng Jawa
The Beef and Chicken Satay was really good accompanied with a very tasty peanut sauce that you could almost drink whole.
The Seafood Section was another crowd favourite with Mussels, Prawns and Oysters. you could have it grilled with Cheese
The Roti John and Waffle corner was another crowd favourite
The Asam Laksa was another dish that blew the judges away, with just right balance of taste.
The Char Kuey Teow and Mee Mamak was really good too, with loads of ingredients.
They had 2 live cooking stations making noodles and pasta., 3 choices of Pasta was given at the Pasta section. All made to perfection.
The Dim Sum was really tasty. They even has some lovely Lok-Lok
The Shawarma with pieces from the Ayam Golek Percik was also very tasty although the dough was a bit too thick
The had a limited variety of sushi, but enough to satisfy yourself, if you are a sushi fan.
The Grilled Seafood Section was a crowd favourite, however the items needed a bit more marination.
They have some cucur manis & Keropok lekok.
For those who love to start wth Appetiser's and salads in Halaman Haji Saad Buffet you will have quite a choice of kerabu, ulam-ulaman and pickles. Some of it includes kerabu (ikan, ayam, daging, kaki ayam, jantung pisang, mangga dll) dengan ulam macam kacang botol, pegaga, ulam raja, daun kadok and paku rawan. with a good variety of sambal-sambal like sambal belaxan, cencaluk, tempoyak, sambal gesek, sambal nenas dan sambal mangga.
When coming to desserts section , this is when you will come to my most favourite dish of the whole Ramadan so far the Serawa Durian with Pulut. All the judges were blown away with this. The taste was truly amazing

You can expect a good selection off assorted Malay pastries, bread and butter pudding. western cakes and pastries.
You can make your own ABC here and they had some lovely ingredients available.
To Wash down all these lovely food you had one of the best Air Bandung. The Nescafe and Teh Tarik .
Overall all the judges loved a little of something at this buffet that was simply the best. The Serawan Durian. Air Bandung, Roast lamb, Soup Gear Box, Mamak Corner, Satay and Asam Laksa was outstanding. Overall the buffet is highly recommended and real value for money
