Berbuka Puasa this Ramadan 2017 at Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur @ RM125.80 Nett, from May 27 to June 4, 2017

Despite knowing and having a good relationship with the Senior Management of the Concorde Hotel KL since the mid 90s , ..... till now, i have been wondering how come the Communications Department of the Concorde has kept avoiding engaging with my BEST FBKL Blog. 

We were never invited to any of their events and they never replied to any of our correspondences. Was their fare that bad? or were they just lying low? 

Since I was quite free yesterday, I decided to shortlist them anyway among the 10 hotels we were going to review for this Ramadan 2017.   I wanted to to see whether they managed to maintain their high standard from years before.  I gathered the team and went to try their buka puasa fare themed 
"Cuit Cuit Rasa"

The "Cuit Cuit Rasa" Buka Puasa At RM125. 80,  seemed pricey at first glance for a Berbuka Puasa fare in a Business Class 4 Star Hotel In Kuala Lumpur, but at the end of the night it was a big thumbs up for the culinary team at the Concorde Hotel. They kept it simple but gave everyone what you could want for in a kampung fare. 

As I entered the restaurant i noticed the buffet was very centralised, it was not a mile long with many stations. Personally, I was pretty happy, as one didn't have to walk far or all over the place to get their favourite dishes

The Concorde Hotel KL they kept to their promise of providing some great tasting Kampung style dishes. From the first dish we had to till the dessert every dish was very tasty.

Throughout our buka puasa session only only one item was below par and it was the bubur pulut pengat durian which is usually one of my favourite dishes. The team concluded it was really "tawar" and not up to standard. 



The King of all Buka Puasa Buffet's is the whole lamb. In fact we disqualify any hotel that does not have a whole Lamb on offer.  Here they had a good looking, nicely roasted full lamb on display with their briyani rice and the fare at Concorde KL was simply delicious!!!

As soon as it was time to break fast majority of the diners headed for the oyster section and after we had some we could tell why. They had some of the freshest oysters, mussels and prawns on ice







The next most popular section was the Grill section. You can choose
 fish, prawn, squid, chicken or beef and  the chef's would pan fry the selected items to your specification in garlic butter or teriyaki sauce The fare was simply delicious in this section. The whole team feasted on Seafood








The BBQ Beef Ribs Was my one of the best I had in  long time. Well seasoned and dropping of the bone with very little fat it was very good.





The Curry Laksa and Mee Soup Section was another crowd favourite.



They had a few other live cooking stations. 

The following hot dishes were all up really we could not really find fault with even one dish. 








Foe the very adventurous some very huge Soup Gear Box was  available. For those who love tradition you must try their bubur lambuk.


They had a good variety of greens, for those who love their Ulam Ulam and Kerabu with the variety of traditional sauces, The even has assorted Keropoks to accompany all this


For those who love to have their simple salads, you could make your own here too!



They had some lovely Roti Canai, with a good selection of local fare  the local fare including gulai urat belimbing buluh, gulai rusa dengan ubi kayu, rendang nangka muda, ayam kampung masak merah berkerisik, udang galah sambal giling 



The steamed fish and curry fish section was another crowd was another favourite of ours. The flavours were really tasty



The Goreng Goreng Section has some of the best Goreng Pisang, Cucur Udang, Keledek


They had a variety traditional Malay kuih's to satisfy your sweet tooth needs.


They had some local fresh fruits too, although unlike other hotel you wont have too much of a variety here, but it should keep you contented.


Western desserts  are also available. The had a good selection of cakes, Bread and Butter Pudding, pastries, and ice cream


The Drinks section offer you some very well made Air Bandung(pink). Limau Nipis (blue), one of the reviewers really enjoyed the soya bean and sugar cane. To wash down the buffet and for those who enjoy a hot drink, they had teh tarik

While you are enjoying the buffet the Legendary Batak Band Begema 5 will serenade diners  from 8pm onwards. They are simply awesome. With the great tasting buffet and the batak band it is no wonder why the Concorde Hotel is one of the top spots for Muslims to break their fast.








The Saturday night we were there, the very humble looking Amy Mastura was seated right beside our table, the Batak Band managed to cajole her to sing with them. She even obliged many diner's with some wefie's.






This was certainly the icing on the cake, ending a very nice buka puasa experience.

The Cuit Cuit Rasa Buka puasa showcasing some great tasting Kampung Style Fare at Melting Pot CafĂ©, Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur is highly recommended. It will be on from May 27 till June 24, 2017 at RM 125.80 nett per person

Buffet Supper ‘Sahur’
(every Friday, Saturday & eve of public holiday)
For those who wish to have their ‘sahur’ (pre-dawn meal) they have a Sahur Buffet from 11.00pm to 5.00am, with dishes like bubur lambuk, mee mamak, nasi lemak, Teochew porridge, roti canai, sandwiches with various fillings, pengat durian and more.
The Sahur Buffet supper is priced at RM80.00 nett per person
