Ampang MP wants the authorities to remove two incompetent and dirty minded adults from their current positions
KUALA LUMPUR: Men should stop blaming girls and women for their own inability to remain unaroused, said PKR Wanita chief Zuraida Kamaruddin today.
Zuraida, who is also the Ampang MP, was referring to reports that a 12-year-old girl was forced to quit a chess tournament held at Putrajaya over her “seductive” dress.
According to the reports, the chess player was told by the Tournament Director and Chief Arbiter of the National Scholastic Chess Championship 2017 in the middle of round two that her dress was “seductive” and “a temptation from a certain angle, far, far away.”
“I urge the relevant authorities to remove these two incompetent and dirty minded adults from their current positions and never to let them near girls at all.
“In fact, there should be a court order to ensure that they keep a safe distance away from all girls.
“Their behaviour is a threat to children especially girls. These two have absolutely no shame and even dare to publicly declare that seeing legs over a knee-length skirt is a temptation.
“How disgraceful! If such men cannot control their urges, they belong behind a cage,” said Zuraida in a statement.
She added that religion teaches everyone to keep a pure mind, and if the mind was not pure, no matter how women dresses, the men would still find reasons to get excited.
The Star today reported that the incident happened at the National Scholastic Chess Championship 2017 on April 14.
Malaysian chess player and coach Kaushal Khandhar was quoted as saying that the chess player – who was his student – was told that her dress was “improper”.
The girl’s mother, Chin Wai Ling, said the director’s pronouncement was only made around 10pm when shops were closing, so she did not have time to buy long slacks for the following day’s 9am start time.
“This situation led to the inevitable decision of withdrawing from the tournament,” Kaushal said in a statement on his Facebook page.
When contacted, the tournament director said an investigation is underway. However, he declined to comment further.
II[12:07 PM, 5/1/2017] Malkit Royal chulan: Press Statement by YB Hajah Zuraida Kamaruddin dated 29 April 2017
I refer to Malay Mail's news report dated 28 April 2017 regarding a 12-year-old girl being forced to quit a chess tournament held at Putrajaya over her "seductive" dress.
I am totally appalled and disgusted with the Tournament Director and Chief Arbiter of the National Scholastic Chess Championship 2017 for stopping a 12-year-old chess player in the middle of round two citing the student's dress as "seductive" and "a temptation from a certain angle, far, far away."
I urge the relevant authorities to remove these two incompetent and dirty minded adults from their current positions and never to let them near girls at all. In fact, there should be a court order to ensure that they keep a safe distance away from all girls. Their behaviour is a threat to children especially girls. These two have absolutely no shame and even dare to publicly declare that seeing legs over a knee-length skirt is a temptation. How disgraceful! If such men cannot control their urges, they belong behind a cage.
This incident is not an isolated case and if men keep on blaming girls and women for their own inability to remain unaroused, then there is even a greater need to keep a registry of all sexual offenders and potential sexual aggressors like these two.
Religion teaches us to keep a pure mind. If the mind is not pure, no matter how the women dresses, the men would still find reasons to get excited.

[12:26 PM, 5/1/2017] Malkit Royal chulan: From Datuk Vinod Sekhar - Of sexual deviants and chess games
I have said this many times. And I'll say it again. Any adult male that has issues with a 12 year old child wearing shorts during
PE is sick in the head and a potential, if not actual, pedophile. Regardless if he cloaks himself in religious or governmental authority.
But now we have an assistant secretary to the Malaysian Chess Federation that decided to eject a young girl of 12 from the Malaysian Scholastic Chess tournament. Why? Because she was wearing a dress, one her mother had just bought her and one that goes down to the knees, that was 'too seductive and a temptation'.
This man's name is Sophian Yusof. This is a man that finds a 12 year old girl too seductive and a temptation. Think about it. Is this someone you want around your children, anyone's child? We let self proclaimed moral policeman like this idiot try and dictate how we live, how our children live.
Enough is enough. Wake up guys. And you know who I'm talking to. When do we stop Malaysia's slide into an unrecognizable country. When do we stop a minority from trying to take ownership of the soul of the country. First it was pageants, then it was young talented athletes and medal winning gymnasts - now its 12 year old Chess players. The time for silence and acceptance of individuals like this is over. It must be over. We must ensure it is. Otherwise we risk losing the Malaysian culture, we risk losing the incredible and beautiful Malay culture. We risk the complete Arabization of our country and losing our soul in the process.
Sophian Yusof should emigrate to Saudi Arabia or a small village in Pakistan where he most likely can avoid being 'tempted' by 'seductive' children. And then at least our children will be safe.
The time for silence is over. Be disgusted by this man. Be disgusted by all like him. And don't be afraid to stand up and show it. We are Malaysia. We are the majority, silent no longer.
