JOHOR BARU: A 54-year-old masseur pleaded not guilty at a Magistrate's court here to outraging the modesty of a female customer at Taman Tampoi Indah here.
The accused, Ramlee Abdullah, made the plea when the charge was read to him before Magistrate Mohd Azlan Shah Mohd Alias on Thursday.
According to the charge sheet, the accused had allegedly used criminal force with the intention to outrage the modesty of a 20-year-old woman at Jalan Titiwangsa 13 in Taman Tampoi Indah at around 9.30am on May 7.
He was charged under Section 354 of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of 10 years or a fine or whipping or any two of the punishments upon conviction.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Muhammad Syafiq Mohd Ghazali had asked for bail to be set at RM8,000.
However, Datin Freda Josephine Gonzales, who represented Ramlee, pleaded for a lower bail of RM3,000 as she said her client has six children, aged one month to 13 years.
The court set bail at RM4,000 and fixed June 13 for the next mention.
