Viral Photos Of Flight Attendants At Drug Party Arrested In Raid Are Fake

Over the weekend, news of cabin crew with a local airline being arrested at a drug party in Kota Warisan made news headlines.
The air stewardessess were reportedly part of 12 individuals picked up by police during a drug raid on 20 May.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Aziz Ali said the police had repeatedly knocked on the main door of the house, but the occupants had refused to let them in.
"Police had to force the door open. They found all the suspects in the house."
"Six flight attendants from a well-known local airline aged between 21 and 23 as well as six men aged between 21 and 25 were found in the premises.
"The raid was due to a complaint made by a member of the public who was suspicious of the activities takin place in the house," he told reporters, Utusan Online reports.
Soon after the raid, photographs purportedly of the six flight attendants started circulating on Facebook.
One Facebook user, by the name of Anys Estella had received a rude shock upon seeing her photograph being circulated as one of the flight attendants arrested in the drug party.

She reacted immediately by making a police report and proceeded to upload a warning on her Facebook page.
Anys wrote how together with her friends pictured in the fake viral photo had tried to contact the social media sites spreading the allegation that she and her friends were the six flight attendants arrested to take down the posting but their requests were ignored.

She then shared the police report made to provide proof of the fake news allegation and urged anyone who sees further news reports linking her to the drug raid to know that there is no truth in the viral news.

"The five of us are not even flight attendants. Please get this straight.
"Please stop the spread of this terrible lie. All the five of us were never included in the list of those arrested. We ask for your cooperation. Thank you," Anys wrote.
