National Chinese New Year open house will be held in Bentong, this Sunday showcasing theatrical dances, porcelain crafts, Terracotta warriors and traditional Chinese performances.

PETALING JAYA: A national-level Chinese New Year open house will be held in Bentong, Pahang, this Sunday showcasing theatrical dances, porcelain crafts, Terracotta warriors and traditional Chinese performances.

Local singers such as Yuni Wun, Aiman Tino and Kvinx will also make their appearance.

Jointly organised by various government bodies, the event is expected to attract a turnout of 15,000. Guests will be feted to various local delicacies.

The guests of honour include Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz and Pahang Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob.






The event will kick off with the 24 Season Drum performance by students from SJK (C) Bukit Tinggi.

Various multi-cultural side performances, featuring mostly local performers from Bentong, will be held between 4.30pm and 6.30pm.

Among the highlights include performances by Bentong Guzheng Ensemble rendering two Chinese New Year songs and Malaysian folk song Rasa Sayang on the Chinese zither.

Young performers from the Aarabi Dance School and SK Tuanku Fatimah will also entertain the crowd with their presentations.

On Saturday, a Chinese New Year street carnival, also in Bentong, will feature Techno Prince Nezha, a new cultural sensation from Taiwan that combines traditional folk dance with modern electronic music.
