Son throws glass cup at mother, goes to jail for 9 months

SEREMBAN: A jobless man was sentenced to nine months jail by the Magistrate court here for causing injuries to his mother last month.
Mohd Afiq Abdullah, 32, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Mohd Zaki Abdul Rahman after the charge was read to him by the court interpreter.
For the offence, Mohd Afiq was charged under Section 324 of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of up to a year or a RM2,000 fine, or both.
According to the facts of the case, the Mohd Afiq had caused injuries to his mother, Siti Bujal, 68, by throwing a glass cup at his mother after the latter refused to prepare him a drink, requested by the accused.
Siti suffered injuries on her head in the incident which occurred at their home in Kampung Che Lah Mantin Nilai on Jan 23.
