JOHOR BARU: Bukit Aman Narcotics Investigation Department seized 12kg of syabu and arrested three people during a simultaneous raids at two locations in Ayer Hitam and Yong Peng in Batu Pahat on Saturday morning.

The drugs, which were in liquid and crystal form, were found at a drug processing laboratory which was located inside a plantation in Ayer Hitam while the three suspects, which included two Indian nationals and a local, were arrested at the two locations. Its director Datuk Seri Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff said the raids at 7am were carried out jointly with assistance from the Special Tactical Intelligence Narcotics Group (STING).

"The drugs are valued at about RM550,000. We believed the drugs were for the local, Singaporean and Indonesian market and are enough for the consumption of about 60,000 users," said Mokhtar.

During the raids, police also seized two vehicles and jewellery worth RM160,000.
