College student slashed in face while saving girlfriend from robbers

KUALA LUMPUR: A Tunku Abdul Rahman college university student was slashed in the face when he fought off two robbers who robbed him and his girlfriend near the Setapak Sentral shopping mall last week.
The incident went viral after the student, identified as 23-year-old Low Ting Sheng, uploaded a picture of his face with slash wound, on social media.
The cut left him with a scar running from his left cheek cutting through the nose.
Low said that according to the medical report, the gash was five inches long and two inches deep.
On May 19, the couple were walking from a lakeside at 10.30pm to the shopping mall when they were stopped by two men near a restaurant at the mall.
"The two men brandished a knife and another weapon at us, demanding our valuables. Fearful of the repercussions, my girlfriend handed over her mobile phone," said Low
One of the men then pushed his girlfriend into a bush. The man then attacked Low when the he tried to save his girlfriend.
The perpetrators fled the scene using a motorcycle.
Wangsa Maju district police chief Superintendent Roy Suhaimi Sarif confirmed the report and are investigating the incident.
