The Roast lamb and Nasi Briyani at The Traders Hotel Buka Puasa

We had a fantastic start  in the search for the best buka puasa offerings among Kuala Lumpur Five Star and Four Star Hotels with our review of Traders Hotel, Kuala Lumpur's Juadah Selera Malaysia Buffet. During the next 10 days we will review the short listed hotels and come up with the best

The Traders Hotel Facebook promotion had gone viral and got the town buzzing, so we were not surprised to see the restaurant  full of diners for buka puasa although its just the first week of Ramadan. Advanced reservations is highly recommended if you choose to go here, as the buka puasa buffet here is extremely popular.

Their Facebook promotion through their Traders Hotel Facebook Page gave diners who made reservations in advance a 50 % discount of the normal price of  RM125.00 Nett for the first week of Ramadan from 6-12 June 2016 ,

In addition to this for every 6 person  who dines 1 dines for free so you only pay for 5. A great deal for family and friends.

Another main attraction to the Juadah Selera Malaysia Buffet is Diners get to enjoy a free flow of Haagen Dazs ice cream every night. The queue for ice cream last night, was never ending. Thankfully the General Manager Mr. Christian Nannucci managed to get his staff to sneak out some ice cream from the kitchen for us without it being hijacked!.

Setting the tone for the night as guest walk in to the Restaurant area they are greeted by soothing Live Gamelan tunes by a three piece troupe

The Juadah Selera Malaysia buffet spread at the Traders Hotel KL is very good. They have various sections spread out all over the restaurant with almost all the Ramadan Buka Puasa favourites you can imagine or want to have .

To break their fast Muslim diners had a really wide variety of dates to choose from.

The star of all Buka Puasa Buffets is always the Roast Lamb. At Traders the roast lamb was roasted to perfection  and went well with their nasi briyani with whole eggs. I must say presentation wise the lamb looked very appetising.

Their local Malay Appetisers and Main Course dishes was tasty and the traditional dishes were full of flavour. Their Sambal Petai was an instant hit and they had to refill this several times The Ikan Patin Tempoyak was really good.

The Chefs taking care of the Satay Section had their hand full, this was one of the most popular sections. The diners were were really going through this section like a typhoon. As soon as the pots were filled it would be emptied in minutes. The Chicken and Beef Satay was really tasty and  you had a nice crisp to the meat and you dug into the peanut sauce.

Their Bubur Section was my personal favour with Bubur Pengat Pisang and Bubur Pengat Durian.Pulut and Roti Benggali. All the reviewers agreed that the Bubur Pengat Pisang was simply one of the best in KL The Bubur Pulut Hitam was also a crowd favourite

The fresh seafood section was swamped with majority heading for the tiger prawns, mussels and bamboo shoots.

The Lok Lok Section was another crowd favourite, with all the different items you can imagine from fishballs to crab sticks.

The chinese section has several crowd favourites such as the roast chicken and duck, noodles, mushrooms and brocolli

The soup gear box section was another crowd favourite.

The Ayam Goreng Kampung and Paru Goreng was simply fabulous and full of flavor you just could not get enough.

As usual in all the major buffets, the Japanese section is always a crowd favourite. Even more so at Traders  Hotel, because of their freshly made sushi. Ingredients were fresh and the variety was quite wide. They had great cuts of tuna and salmon sashimi. They had Tempura dishes and baby octopus too.

In the Western section there was beef , chicken, potatoes, grilled snapper, beef, Spaghetti Carbonara and Spaghetti Bolognaise. Catch the video above for the visuals.

Diners could quench their thirst with a wide selection of hot and cold drinks. The Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur provides one of the most variety of drinks for their buka puasa and its never watered down. The Air Banding was the crowds favourite.

One really nice touch that the Traders Hotel does is that they place the drinks in several areas for the diners to take.

For Dessert they had a huge variety of  Fruits, Traditional Malay Pastries, Cakes, Cup-cakes, Tarts, Mousse, Ice Kachang and 6 original flavours of Haagen Dazs Ice Cream. By end of the night most of it was wiped out!.
