GEORGE TOWN: Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali says he will lead the prosecution team when Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng is charged with corruption tomorrow.
“InsyaAllah, I will lead the prosecution team tomorrow at the Penang Sessions Court," he told Bernama.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on Wednesday detained Lim and businesswoman Phang Li Koon, the former owner of a bungalow in Jalan Pinhorn.
The MACC said in a statement that Lim was detained at his office on the 28th Floor, Komtar here at 5.45pm while Phang was detained at 4.15pm at her office on the 6th Floor, Penang Garden here.
It said the two were arrested after receiving instructions from the Attorney-General's Office to charge them in court tomorrow.
Lim and Phang are expected to be charged with corruption.
