The elite President Security Group or PSG is the lead agency tasked with providing security to the President of the Philippines, the Vice President of the Philippines, and their immediate families.
In a difficult task like this, would you imagine this beautiful police woman would be the newest member of the elite group.
Meet Police Inspector Sophi Loren Deliu, a 25 year-old Filipina-Romanian beauty. She graduated from Class 2014 of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) and presently on active duty as a police officer in Baguio City.
She was also a candidate for Miss Earth Philippines in 2015.
MANILA - Police inspector and former Miss Philippines-Earth candidate Sofia Loren Deliu will be part of the security detail of presumptive president Rodrigo Duterte, according to a report online.
Deliu, along with several other lady police officers, met with the Davao City mayor last Sunday. She was seen shaking hands and exchanging words with Duterte.
Deliu, who is half-Filipina, half-Romanian, made headlines last year after joined the Miss Philippines-Earth beauty pageant. She finished in 15th place.
In an interview with DZMM, Deliu admitted that it has always been her dream to win Miss Earth. However, she set this aside and chose to enter the Philippine National Police Academy shortly after graduating from Saint Louis University in Baguio City with a bachelor's degree in tourism management.
She joined the country's police force in 2014. Before embarking on her Miss Philippines-Earth journey, Deliu was the chief supply officer at the PNP Regional Public Safety Battalion, formerly called the Regional Mobile Group.
"Kami po yung unit na...nagco-combat operations. Kami po 'yung supporting unit. And under din po sa amin yung SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics), EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposa), 'yung sa mga bombings. Anything that has to do with rescue, kami pong unit yun," she explained.
