Road Transport Department or JPJ Gets new Director General





Nadzri is new RTD director-general of JPJ




PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Nadzri Siron has been appointed as the new Road Transport Department director-general, effective June 16.

Nadzri, 57, who is the former deputy secretary-general (management) in the Prime Minister’s Department, replaces Datuk Seri Ismail Ahmad.

Ismail held the post from March 2013 until his retirement last Thursday.

Announcing the appointment, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Ali Hamsa said Nadzri, who holds a bachelor's degree in History from Universiti Malaya, has over 32 years experience in the civil service.

He said Nadzri first joined the civil service as Administration and Diplomatic Officer on January 9, 1984.

“He has vast experience in the areas of public management, administration, logistic, enforcement, security and human resource development,” said Ali.

Among Nadzri’s previous appointments include Federal Territories RTD director, secretary in the procurement division of the Defence Ministry, and secretary in the Competency Development Division of the Defence Ministry.

Meanwhile, other new appointments include Abdul Rahim Ishak, who is now director general of the National Housing Department under the Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Ministry, effective June 16.

He replaces Datuk Mohamad Yusoff Ghazali who retired on May 25.

Mohd Jamalludin Kasbi is the new Orang Asli Development Department (JAKOA) director-general, replacing Datuk Hasnan Hassan who retired on June 16.

Jamalludin is formerly the division secretary (management) in the Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Ministry.

Meanwhile, Datuk Arifin Che Mat was appointed Road Safety Department director-general, replacing Abdul Ghafar Yusof.
